The truth of the matter

LSU fans have been desperately trying to convince both themselves and anyone else that'll listen that Charlie Strong would be, and should be, retained. Now that that's obviously not happening, many are unsure of how to handle it.
LSU fans have been desperately trying to convince both themselves and anyone else that'll listen that Tom Herman is coming here. He's not. The sooner you start accepting that, the better.
That leaves Jimbo Fisher, the wild card in the whole situation. My belief is that he will be the next LSU head coach; I've said that from the beginning. But, if for whatever reason he gets cold feet, then we have to be ready for the real possibilities of what may happen.
Apparently Larry Fedora and Dana Holgerson are backup plans. I'm sure other names will emerge (PJ Fleck?) But honestly, if Jimbo falls through I think LSU suits will be looking for a big-name established coach to appease the fan base. I'm not going to mention any names, because some of them are names that I'm sure most Tiger fans don't want to hear (i.e., Bob Stoops).
It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks.

If Jimbo falls through it appears it won't be from lack of trying.
I do love all of this info that suddenly begins to flow after a loss.
