re: The REAL scoop

I dont have facts/rumors from some connected big whig. Here are the facts I am aware of. UM has pretty much publicly targeted no other coach. They are not trying to pressure Les by leaking other candidate names in the press. Its clear they want Les. Les has clearly spoken to them about something. If Les leaves them at the alter, I suspect it might really piss off his UM family and friends. All these facts point in one direction. Les wants to coach at UM or this would have never had gotten this far.

I'll cite where my info comes from...a very close business partner of David Toms in Shreveport. I would believe that David Toms is a credible source.
Your rumor is nothing...you say that nothing has happened yet...and that is completely false. UM has contacted Miles at the beginning of the season. I'm not sure if you live under a rock, but I think that most intelligent people know that
I know David and his dad. David is as big a fan of LSU as anyone. That doesn't make him the most knowledgeable person on the planet. Many things go on that even the highest-level players might not know about. I simply gave information from someone at the highest level. Believe it or don't believe it. I don't care.

If you have no facts, don't post.
The fact is that there is NO public facts except the fact that LSU has granted UM permission to contact Miles. That is it. My source is an attorney in BR that is very close friends with a financial adviser of David Toms. I know it sounds like a lot of channels to go through but I expect that no one on this board has anything but emails from friends also.

There have been NO negotiations with other coaches or their agents. Claims to the contrary are just BS.
Have you ever heard of SPIN. You were SPUN my friend.
LSU didn't protect itself and was left hanging in the wind by Saban when he left. There is no way that LSU would let this happen again.
Talks or Negotiations, call them what you want, but I know that any discussions with another coach or the coach's agent would include the following questions: "Are you willing to leave your current job? How much money would it take? The response would likely be "LSU is willing (or not willing) to pay that sum to make this deal happen." If you think that conversations like this haven't been going on for some time, I think your naive. If you are right and no negotiations have taken place, then LSU is in trouble.
I've heard from a supposed source that Miles is gone and Spurrier will be LSU's coach. I don't know how reliable this source is, but I'm anxious to find out.

My source will have a vote on the next coach. Enough?

He has lost the ADMIN and staying is not really an option. The ADMIN and rightly so beleives the debacle w/ AR and blown MNC shot is a direct reflection of his coaching and the way he handled the rumors.
He's probably leaving, but not for these reasons. Who, specifically, from the Admin. has he lost?

Do you think Michigan would be happy about wasting this much time and effort on him and he stiffs them?
Posted on 11/30/07 at 10:40 am to shrevetigertom
Well I wouldn't discount what David knows...I'm sure that he has the access to this type of info.

I don't know what David knows. He probably knows more than all of us.

You are probably right. That shouldn't happen, but it does.
