assuming chavis will coach the linebackers, these seem to be the other possible guys
DL
O-Dont think anyone really knows
Brick Haley-D-line coach for chicago
has SEC experience as well as NFL, played for chavis and was a coord at BCS school
Dan Brooks-defensive tackles coach at tennessee-has coached some solid players, knows chavis defense, mentioned in article on ESPN
DB's
Vance Joseph-DB's-san francisco
NOLA recruiting and has NFL experience
Larry Slade-DB's-Tennessee
also knows chavis defense, pretty well thought of
Doug Mallory-said in advocate he had a job here if he wanted
Corey Raymond-looking less and less likely

Personally I would like Haley. I know O is a great recruiter and i think pretty good position coach im not sure how he would affect staff chemistry or if he and chavis would gel. Haley played for him and has a very solid resume. I think Joseph would be a great hire as well.
On Mallory, really the only way i see him staying on is if the rumors about robinson trying to go to the NFL are true then having mallory do special teams. he did them at western kentucky and indiana so he has experience but i think even that is a stretch

Mallory needs to go, hes a waste. He doesn't even recruit, at least Peveto was a good recruiter. Haley is every bit as good as O and I think he could turn out to be a great recruiter as well. He could pull the, "don't you want to play for a guy who was a all-pro card" out to a recruit. Hes a good coach and was a great NFL player. LSU needs a knockout recruiter on the defensive side and that is probably why O is the first option at DL. Our two best recruiters will be gone, Lane/Peveto. Mallory/Robinson have done jack shite in recruiting. Chavis doesn't recruit much at all I think either.

Ask Vance Joseph who he would pick as the knock-down best recruiters. OK, after his brothers.
