Pay Attention, Joe Alleva.

You respond thus:

Arnsparger's proclamation that the "Head Coach and players will be given input into bowl game selection" evoked a simple response from me: No they wouldn't. As Director of Athletics, it was up to me to make the decisions which would prove most advantageous to the Athletic Department as a whole. That did not include placing a million-dollar decision into the hands of a football coach, or subjecting it to the whims of a group of twenty-year-old football players. That went out when the 1959 squad voted not to go to the Sugar Bowl.

from Sacked, by Bob Brodhead, p. 90

"Million dollar decision" ... how quaint. The amounts have grown exponentially and the truth of the above has done the same.

Mike Archer. I've seen the future. We're fricked. Lazy and cheap. Destiny.

That fricking video better have absolutely no emphasis on Alleva's decision. Nor should the fans. This loyalty bullshite from fans and players trying to sway the AD has to stop.

I wish Alleva would just come out and say, "I appreciate the players love for O and I appreciate the fans passion for him but we are looking at all options. Thanks for the concern but it has no emphasis on our decision making"
