The line about willing to wait a few weeks for the best person was very telling.

I don't doubt that through agents some sort of understanding to talk has been arranged.

Michigan likes to think it's above the things that happen at Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas A&M, and so on. They allready have a top ten class coming in and if they wait for Miles they'll still have a top ten class.

Carr will continue to keep in touch with recruits and sell the University to them until the new coach comes in.

That's one thing to admire about Michigan Men, they are so goddamn loyal and care about the institution so much.

Les Miles should be the man in Michigan. And you can bet Michigan is going to "play their asses off" if he gets the nod. He might not the most couth of coaches out there.

Since when does couth win you National Championships?

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, to charleston.net, on the U-M job: "Oh, no, no, that's very easy for me not to think about. Y'all need to talk to Les Miles about that, not me. When you lose four in a row, you're not in demand too much I wouldn't think." (Last week, on his call-in show, Spurrier said he told this year's recruiting class that he'd be here for their four years.) "I certainly hope so. If we keep going like this (losing four straight), I may get fired before their tenure is over. So, you've got to remember that, too."

Start with the quote delivered to the Detroit News by John Wangler, former Miles teammate and current Miles friend, the one that read like this: "If the job's open and they offered him the job, I believe he would come up. I don't think there's any ands, ifs or buts about it ... Les loves Michigan. That's always been his dream. He'd come here."

I think we will know something during the 2 weeks after the SECCG. Say around the 17th of December. Thats the first week in December when the dead period for recruiting begins, so Miles will have some time on his hands to talk with MICH.
