The "Jimbo is Miles 2.0" Argument

First off, let me just say that I will have zero problem whatsoever if LSU lands Jimbo. There is no doubt that he is an upgrade to Miles. Between some people on this board and my conversations with others, it's a popular theory that Jimbo's teams consistently dig themselves an early hole and have to claw back to win. So I did some research. I am defining a slow start as FSU being down by double digits in the first half.
I'll give Jimbo the benefit of the doubt for 2010 and 2011. Those were his first two seasons as head coach and he was weeding out the stale culture left from the back end of the Bowden era. FSU finished those seasons 10-4 and 9-4 with bowl wins.
2012 (12-2, ACC Champs, Won Orange Bowl)
After reviewing the box scores for each game, FSU didn't have any "slow starts." The only "red flag" would be their 17-16 loss to NC State. Their second loss was to #6 Florida.
2013 (14-0, ACC Champs, National Champs)
Slow Starts:
Boston College (Down 14-3 in the 1st quarter, won 48-34)
#2 Auburn (Down 21-10 at halftime, won 34-34)
2014 (13-1, ACC Champs, CFP Appearance)
Slow Starts:
NC State (Down 24-7 in the 1st quarter, came back to win 56-41)
Louisville (Down 21-7 at halftime, came back to win 42-31)
Miami (Down 13-0 in the 1st quarter, came back to win 30-26)
FSU's only loss was a 59-20 beating by #3 Oregon in the CFP. The game was close until Oregon ripped off 27 points in the 3rd quarter alone.
2015 (10-3, Lost Peach Bowl)
Slow Starts:
NC State (Down 17-7 in the 1st quarter, came back to win 34-17)
#14 Houston (Down 21-7 at halftime, lost 38-24)
FSU had a head scratching 22-16 loss to Georgia Tech. Their other two losses were to #3 Clemson and #14 Houston.
2016 (Currently 8-3)
Slow Starts:
#11 Ole Miss (Down 28-13 at halftime, won 45-34)
#10 Louisville (Never got going, blown out 63-20)
UNC (Down 21-7 at halftime, lost 37-35).
#10 Miami (Down 13-3 at halftime, won 20-19).
Keep in mind that FSU is playing with a Freshman QB this season.
We could definitely do a lot worse than Jimbo IMO.

Remember that time les promoted his LB (and DB) coach to DC? His seat got toasty real quick. The following year John Chavis was made one of the highest paid DCs in football. Les survives
Chavis gets out of dodge, Miles then hires an average DC for a top 5 salary nationally. Literally almost lost his job bc his team couldn't stop a fart in November.
So what does miles do then? Buys the best possible DC in the nation for 1.2 million. Still couldn't save him this time.
Imagine Jimbo with a blank check... It matters. Nick Saban is running a rehab program for former USC head coaches on his staff, meanwhile Jimbo couldn't even retain his DC (guess who has him now, Saban) and had to promote from within.
If LSU truly buys in and gives him all the resources he needs to compete with the best, that is how you get Jimbo Fisher

If there is one true thing in life, it's that there is only one Les Miles.

Who is not an upgrade compared to Miles?

His defense has not been good since the championship year. Him and Aranda = titles.

The reason it has been happening more the past couple of years has been due to a horrid defense thanks largely to FSU going on the cheap and hamstringing Jimbo there.

Lets all sit back and think about 29 straight wins. Imagine LSU with 29 straight wins. Boy you wouldn't be able to tell the state of LA nothin.

All I saw from that post is 11 TDs in 10 games and we're 6-4.
