These hirings/firings midseason are weird.
So what's he going to do? Finish the season and then go over?
I seriously doubt he would coach this year's team right?

Agreed. Couple weird things about this one.
1. Baylor has their biggest home game of the season this weekend at home against OU and they've got this guy focused on his next job.
2. Baylor plays TT on 11/27. I assume McGuire stays on staff with Baylor, but that will be an odd situation having the future HC go against his team.

McGuire is starting immediately at TTech.
Not sure if he's going to be coaching the games or not, yet, but he's going to be in Lubbock. They need to hit the ground running in recruiting.
Edit: He won't be coaching during practices/games. Cumbie will still keep those duties.

He knows he's not in line to be Baylor HC when Aranda leaves for LSU

He was actually the assumed successor if Aranda left.
