Ellis Johnson is the best overall DC on that list.

I think you might be right, but I don't know if he would leave USCeast.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Narduzzi?

Elite Coaching Competency For An Administrative HC Type Like Coach Miles = Only As Good As The OC & DC That He Employs. And in the SEC, even elite HCs and/or minds at one side of the ball(Saban at D, SOS and Urban at O) still need strong help, and surround themselves with quality Assistants, demanding competency.

Yes, Coach Miles is 41-9, but of the SEC's Top Powers..

LSU is now 1-1 vs Saban at Bama, and far behind Bama at DC in the tough Western Division, their main rival in coming years, of whom is upgrading quickly in talent..

Has lost 3 straight routs to UGA, with Richt 2-0 vs Miles..after Saban had beat them 2 of 3 while at LSU..

Urban is now 2-2 vs LSU(2 big wins in Swamp & 2 close losses in Tigerstadium) and may bookend LSU's BCS crown with two of his and UF's own..LSU will not have a team capable of repeating the hold-serve title winning trend next year..

LSU needs to make an Elite level DC move to stay with the SEC's Best..Fact!

P.S. Nutt is 19 points from unbeaten at Old Myth this year, Petrino will be getting some talent and his spread schemes up-to-speed very soon at Ark, Moo St will make a move for competency on O with their next hire, probably Auburn too this or next year for an Offensive mind, and Tennessee too..you snooze..you lose!

How about Nick Holt USC DC? I'd imagine the guy can recruit.

Dave Campo, DB coach, Dallas Cowboys, was DC for Dallas and Cleveland Browns. Has ties in Texas and Florida. Very aggressive, very knowledgeable and has not only been a DC and DB coach but also a LB coach. Has personality, players like to play for him and has a fired up, constant positive mental attitude.

Might leave DB job with Dallas to be DC at LSU.

He's a cowboy throught and through. He's like my personal two favorites: Bud Foster and Mickey Andrews. Neither will leave unless it's a HC gig. Here's hoping to Bowden retiring this year and Mickey hating Jimbo. Kind of a stretch.

I don't think Bud Foster goes anywhere as long as Beamer is there but I think Mickey Andrews could leave when Bowden does. He could feel passed over. Plus great connections in Florida. Would be a great hire in IMO. Only thing about Andrews is timing. Bowden could be around as long as JoePa and Fisher could be waiting a long time. Just like Mushchamp now at Texas.

That would be a really good hire IMHO. Don't know if it's going to happen though. Bud Foster isn't going anywhere anytime soon unless it's to be a HC. I could see him staying until Beamer leaves and him getting the job at VT.

I'm dreaming with you dude. :assuring nod and pat on back:

If CGP is the "brains behind the defense" then why not recruit him? It moves him from the MWC to SEC with a chance to step up to a HC position there in the future.

Why would Patterson leave as a head coach to be the DC at a school ranked ahead of LSU at the moment?

Mickey Andrews has to be 150 years old by now, huh?

Hey, as long as that guy isn't calling his player's by his children's names or pissing in his pants chanting "I love poop," I'll take that guy. He has always had one of the most stout D's in D1 ball. Even if we have to roll his old bones to the field in a chair, I'll take that guy.
