You don't have to hire him. You talk to him to get whoever you want to move faster, because he's available right now. We can't wait until after a bowl or the playoff for this shite to play out. He provides some leverage.

It's hard for a HC to control what players do off the field... look at saban and his problems.
I don't condone Briles and if he is to ultimately blame and knew what happened then I say no
