Still worried about "climate of austerity"

Hope I'm wrong, but still have a hunch that this is effecting things. Remember the state of the art nutrition center that was a supposed to be a stand-alone facility? It ended up being relegated to a floor in the football stadium.
This is going to take a lot of money, and the boosters that want to pay ultimately won't have the final say. It's going to be the board of supervisors and president of the university, and remember this is a conglomerate of politicians, academics, and business leaders. I have a bad feeling this "Sexton" talk, as well as rumors that LSU is "making a big offer" is damage control to make the public think LSU made a good offer.
They were prepared, and purportedly hoped, that Ed Orgeron would "make it easy on them." Worried that all the decision makers, outside the big money boosters, aren't willing to do what it takes. Of course it's short-sighted, but this is Louisiana.

I fear you are correct. I fear even if O loses ANOTHER game (boy has the criteria dropped) he will be LSU's HC.
LSU's leadership is as weak as pasta chain.

Man your confidence waning is further worrying me about my theory.

It's not entirely out of the realm. However, I know for a fact Alleva knows that people will be out for his head if he screws this up...

If O is the HC I will hope LSU sinks so far that Louisiana Tech becomes the state's flagship school.

Look man..no one..I mean NO ONE really really knows what us actually going on.
We'll get a great coach. Everyone just needs to stay positive lol

We'll become the "climate of sucking" if we don't pay the market rate for a good coach.
It would cost us more to bring back Les Miles.

When they realize the amount of money that is generated by a winning, championship contending program, we will be fine. I hate to bring him up, but Saban is worth $20 million a year when judged by economic impact he brought to UA and the state of Alabama

I agree completely. Shortsighted, but not out of the realm considering the decision making prowess of Louisiana.

That's pretty pathetic. LSU will sink because of people who think like that, not because of failure in football.

No doubt they haven't instilled much confidence moving forward.

We can just throw Country Bayou Bashes in our newly renovated stadium 52 weeks a year. Problem solved.
