I just got off the phone with my dad who is visiting with my sister in Pigeon Forge, and he said he was talking with some UT booster friends of his up there yesterday and they said they felt Chavis wanted to bring 2 of his guys with him. Then in the paper up there today it was mentioned and that he may ony be able to bring 1. Who has intel on this?

popular choice is dan brooks, the defensive tackles coach, but with O or Haley seeming to be the top 2 choices not sure.

but also, if lane and robinson both leave as expected then we could have 2 d-line coaches or haley has experience coaching linebackers and chavis woudlnt coach a position

sorry to be that guy, but ... "whose"? more to the point, i dont think he brings anyone with him. who did Crowton bring with him? where did this notion come from that a DC brings his own assistants.

some tenn fans said he was told he could bring 1 assistant and i think a poster on here said that but you are right. crowton didnt pick any assistants and neither did pelini, it may help having guys familiar with his defense but its miles decision

We have a chance to get Oregeron/Brick Haley, Vnace Joseph (supposedly), or some other good NFL coachs, and Chavis wants to bring his boys from UT? He better not get in the way of hiring some good positiong coachs.

We have an extra slot if Joe Robinson leaves.

Chavis: DC/LB
Orgeror/Haley: DE/Asst HC
Joseph: DB

Would love to have Dan Brooks as a part of this staff as DT coach and have Orgeror as DE coach, or vice versa. Brooks is solid, looks like a top notch recruiter too.

Numbers

He had 8 kids last year and 5 commits this year, that is a lot for any one coach on a staff.

Looks like his area was in state. There are not that many 4 and 5 star players in Tennessee.

I am more concered with his ability to coach. We have had a great recruiter in that spot the last 3 years and he has coached them at all.

He has served a recruiting coordinator for UT as well.

Has a big part of bringing in the the talent UT has had over the years.
