Some recent high profile Coaching Searches

I’ve been doing some digging on other high profile searches to kind of gauge what type of candidates other similar schools were looking at. I left some out of course (who could forget our own shitshow in 2015/16) My conclusion:
This shite is a total crapshoot. This site loses its collective mind every day saying this coach would be a failure or this coach would kill it here. The truth is - you don’t know shite. No one does. Some of these hires would’ve been disastrous (Rich Rod at Bama, Edsall at ND) some of the schools made a hire where literally any other candidate would’ve been better (Strong at Texas), some schools (FSU) had a list of totally shitty candidates.
Alabama 2006 - candidates included Rich Rodriguez, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier. Fringe (not serious) guys were Jim Grobe and Paul Johnson
Notre Dame 2009 - Brian Kelly was the main candidate, fallback option was Randy Edsall
Ohio State 2011 - They had a real list like us. Fickell was given some consideration. Tier 1 included Urban Meyer, Bo Pelini, Mark Dantonio, Bob Stoops, Chris Petersen. Tier 2: Turner Gill (Buffalo), Charlie Strong, Paul Chryst, Phil Fulmer, Mike Leach
Texas 2013 - Names included Gus Malzahn, James Franklin, Charlie Strong, Jimbo Fisher, Art Briles, and, of course, Nick Saban
Michigan 2014 - Both Harbaugh brothers, Les Miles (again). Some less serious names were Art Briles, Mike Gundy, Jim Mora, Gary Patterson, Kevin Sumlin
Georgia 2015 - Kirby Smart, Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman, Dan Mullen, Chip Kelly
Florida State 2017 - Willie Taggart, James Franklin, Charlie Strong, Justin Fuente
Florida State 2019 - Matt Campbell, Mike Norvell, Odell Haggins, Mark Stoops

Nebraska should've opened up the checkbook for him years ago. They can recruit the kind of players he'd need to bring them back to respectability.
If they move on from Frost, I'd go after Monken at Army.
