Have saw some claims that we would never offer Les. MSC was dead set against(wanna wring her neck myself). Saw one claim that he was given a 3M per yr offer. Three Mil is a bit insulting for a NC champion IMO.
Take it for what it is worth.
I took a nap after the news broke, and had ate. Wife whipped up some beef tip & noodles which were pretty dog gone good. Mashed tatoes FTW.
Anyways, after waking up a bit ago, my stupid "I never give up on my team" side come out.
From what I can tell......Xs & Os wise this hire is exactly what we need on the D side of ball. Which is a good thing. Other than 06, we havent had much to be happy on that side of the ball in the past decade.
Nepotism. Well not only do we have a "Michigan Man", but we also may have some good ole boy hires.
This I am not sure what to make of. Some of the names speculated on(Like Hokes brother) actually have a decent/good resume.
I just got a feeling that we are heading back to 3 yrds & a cloud of dust days. That style has won us many games, and will win B10 titles eventually.
But it also puts us at a disadvantage when we meet teams that not only are big also, but have speed.
Anyways glad this is over for all of us. We didnt get a "sexy" hire, but hopefully one that has us back to playing with solid fundamentals.
BTW... If anyone there has a direct line to Miles...please tell him there are Michigan fans out there that adore him. We wish him, his Lesticles, and the Tigers nothing but the best.

We have it on good authority that Miles was offered more than he makes at LSU..
Take that back to UM boards... Blee Dat!

Our best information on this site is that they did offer. It was slightly over what Les makes now but wasn't enough for him to abandon what he's got here.

Word is Miles was offered barely above what he makes at LSU
and that wasn't enough for him to make the switch

Unfortunately, 3 yards and a cloud of dust won't win you NCGs.

More?
Then you are talking 4M plus....which is just silly to believe we end up with Hoke if you have that type of money going around.
Not saying I dont believe you. Maybe Les wouldnt take it, but NO ONE would?
Just seems strange. That is a lot of "bling".
I dont care how tarnished we are. When you get above Les's contract, that is a lot of incentive to coach in front of 100K folks.

Keep in mind that IF they offered Les more than he is currently making, that does not translate into them offering that much to every candidate. They obviously wanted a "Michigan Man" and that narrows the field considerably. I seriously doubt they offered Hoke anywhere near what they offered Miles.
