Unless you are hiring a coach that is not currently coaching somewhere (Urban Meyer was in TV before going to OSU for example). Then there is no advantage to firing a coach early to get a jump on negotiations.
The advantage is you have time to fully vet potential candidates that's about it.

If you can't get a grip around the fact that what they release to the public and what actually goes on behind closed doors is completely different, then I don't know how to help you man
