Who would want to come coach in the SEC? As soon as you win a NC, or go 11-1, 10-2, teams come gobble up your staff. Is Saban causing impatience, because he rebuit in 2 yrs? Sexton at least is getting these guys money on the way out, but there is no longevity in the Sec coaching staffs anymore??? I feel sorry for the coaches like Les, not only do they have to rebuild players, but rebuild staffs in a short time....not fair on the head coaches.

Obviously most recently:
Kiffen
Petrino
Saban
and I am sure Auburn won't have any trouble finding a qualified list of candidates.

Les is now the senior coach (at least in his current position) in the SEC West.
That should tell you something about longevity in the conference. And only Les' predecessor was not fired/asked to resign/forced to resign/not welcomed back/forced into early retirment.
(And Ole Miss has changed twice.)

I think both UT and Auburn made mistakes in running off their respective coaches.
We have a good coach and we need to remember that.

Again I would not brag about that one, he really has no resume as a head coach or even a guy who designs a plan for the game. He was a positions coach at USC and was handed an offense Norm Chow built with Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Lendale White, Dwayne Jarret and Steve Smith. Only was an offensive coordinator there for 2 years before going to Oakland where the Raiders pretty much stayed where they were when he arrived. To me his not that big name coach to brag about being in the SEC. He still needs to prove himself as a head coach.

I guess the amount of money these coaches are getting paid, ticket prices, winning the big ones, are causing the AD'S trigger fingers with firing to get nervous. If people are gonna pay the outrageous prices to go to a game, they will expect winning or else.

You know what? That's just the way it is, and a solid head coach can handle staff members leaving and still be successful.
Look at how many people Bob Stoops has lost over the past decade--Mangino, Leach, his brother Mike, Kevin Sumlin, just off the top of my head. Dude still wins like crazy, though.
Also, we like to make fun of Saban losing people left and right, but all dude did in his second year at Bama is go 12-0 (and counting).
The excuse of "winning leads to losing key staff, which leads to losing on the field" doesn't "cut any ice with me", as my grandfather used to say.

This coaching changing mess has gotten out of hand. The grass is not always greener and no wonder why these coaches demand the money they make. We do have a good coach and good man with integrity. He will make the corrections.
I just hope all these coaching changes get settled soon so I can get some work done.
Geaux Tigers!

Lets take Muschamp, a coordinator under Saban---we all know saban ran that defense. What makes a person think that just because your a good coordinator, you'd be a great head coach?
