Gumps don't realize it's just a matter of time before he leaves. He will not retire at Alabama!

Actually, you did.

In the recent years before Saban, Bama was just as average as any other big program. There's no mystical aura about your program. Just happen to have had runs with good coaches. That's why you're willing to sell the farm to keep him.

Yea you're right you never made any reference to 10 years.

We were average because of our self-inflicted probation. We have won a SEC title at least once every decade of the entire existence of the SEC. Even during our worst eras we have been a force. No other team can say that.

And of course we're willing to pay. Last week, all of you guys said we could keep up with Texas monetarily...now you admit that we can pay?

My bad, but completely different contexts. I commented on the time you have been Sabanless, you started boasting of LSU accomplishments of the last ten years.

I guess that I'm just used to seeing LSU folks thinking that CFB history started in 1999.

No I'm well aware of the 90s I sat in that stadium supporting even during those years. My memory goes back 26 years. I'm 31 and been going to games since I was 5.
Again I just used 10 years as reference. Again I respect saban. But no one can tell me he wasn't considering that job.

I love when fans drop program accomplishments in conversation while also dropping ten "we" references. As though any of Bama's accomplishments have anything to do with you.

And you guys call us insecure? Hiding behind the probation excuse? Can't admit that your program was struggling the same as others would with Shula, etc? Have to believe that you're better than anyone else, that you don't need a great coach to succeed, same as any other program?

well in the "we" sense there would be no bama, LSU or any program for that matter if there were no fans.

Duly noted. And I'm sure that you'll separate yourself from any victory (or loss) LSU has in their mid-tier bowl.

And you sho is mad.

To be fair, if you attended the University your tuition DID have something to do with it in a small part. Just one man's opinion on the use of the word "we".

Shula became our coach because, quite frankly, we were a shitshow at that time and our options for hiring a big name coach were limited by probation. This was the reason that Fran bailed on us because he knew what was coming.

I never said that our success wasn't built on great coaching because it is.

You're grabbing for straws now...I understand that you're frustrated.

And you are an example of the entire BAMA fanbase....the fat kid telling the hungry kid to stop bitching because he would like more food. Absolutely the most arrogant fan base in the entire country by a Texas mile...

There is no missing him...He really is the only coach in the country that could tear down what he built at LSU. He put LSU back on the map and now the bastard is trying to tear it down. That's what you gumps with your head up your arse dont understand.

to have a winning team it is more then a coach, players and an AD. so all fans should take pride in being part of the wins and the championships that come from it. Those large SEC congrats are because we fans watch our teams play. Every dollar I spend for a Bama shirt with the right tag on it means I am supporting Ba financially. So all Bama fans can take pride in that fact that the team "we" pull for just won a natty etc. I am pretty sure there is a water boy on the team that gets credit when Bama wins a game and he is part of "we"

Mack Brown may not be winning "every" football game but he's carried himself better than the U of Texas BOR, the boosters, and the UT fans.

I have a new found respect for Mack Brown and hopes he turns the football program around and makes them all look like shidt .

Mack and NS have at least one thing in common.

They both went about their jobs this week in recruiting and other things while rumors were spread about them. I assume all UT rumors were coming from boosters who thought their chit did not stink who though they were going to get their way..Power struggle at UT may put them into the class of other programs that have regretted firing a successful long time coach..Phat Phil anyone
