Not exactly a step up in programs, but it would be an easier schedule each year to run the table. Will he take the easier road to the national title?

They are too cheap to upgrade facilities to keep the best coach they will ever have. How would they ever match Nick's Salary at bama?

I don't think they have to match the salary. It's also amazing what losing a good coach can do for your boosters willingness to make the next one happy. People didn't think Michigan would have paid Miles type money either but they sure as hell came up with it for Rodriguez.
