Dino Babers, Mark Stoops, and Lane Kiffin would be realistic. I would call Mario Christobal first and make him say no

Oof, that kinda screws Manny Diaz who would also have been a great fit. I think he just accepted a HC job elsewhere.

I wonder if Max Johnson committing to us was a signal?

I hope Kiffin gets the job, BTW. Match made in heaven.

Cristobal would be a fool to take that job. I know it's his alma mater, but they aren't set up like Oregon is.

Stoops would be a good hire for them. He recruits well at UK and he'd do better at Miami. I don't even know if he would take it, but this year would be a good time to get out at UK with how senior heavy they were. Can't imagine them not taking a step back.

Yeah, he’s definitely on their short list.

If he goes UK’s first call will be Neal Brown. And I’m ok with that.

He’s been there 3 years, and he’s been a P5 coach close to 20 years.

It will be weird not seeing him on Saturdays

Hasn't Stoops had some Miami players on his staff? I feel like Lamar Thomas was there at one point (maybe still is). Hasn't he also entertained trying to get Ed Reed onto his staff?

The answer is yes to all of that because he was th DB coach from 01-03, but it’s irrelevant now since Diaz was hired.

Stoops will probably leave before long, if he does I hope it’s before Neal Brown gets a better job.
