Just because Martinez got canned as DC doesn't mean squat about him as DB Coach.
We're potentially taking a very "early-2000s UGA" defensive look, which along with Auburn at the time is a very good look.
If we can get a decent OC that brings in the OL, we can do really well for ourselves 2012 and beyond.

i didn't mean that bad, i just was saying i differed. and i just watched oklahoma since he has gone there and i have never seen a venebles defense that easily carved up. and while DC here i have never seen a more disorganized, unprepared, slow adapting, and worthless defense in my life. he was so bad that bobo never got heat because everyone was so focused on martinez destroying the very fabric of our program. under BVG i know he was here but i just can't see where he helped. under BVG i remember Georgia's strong suit being it's front 7 and when your front 7 is that good your secondary really can flourish no matter how badly coached.
maybe BVG can once again get willie to become tolerable, but from what i have seen at OU with another very good DC and what i saw him do at UGA and i mean right from the start in 2005 our secondary struggled when he took over

Not true. See AU 2010. Our front 7 was really good, #1 in SEC against the run. Our secondary sucked bigtime.

i'd dare to say our front 7s may have been a little better. and our secondary was more talented. AU was obviously a better team in 2010 but many of our defense talent wise were better than that one. not to really discredit AU but more so to discredit slick willie
