Gary Barnett was just talking on Fox Sports Radio and he said the name he keeps hearing for LSU if Miles leaves is Ron Rivera.
Of all the hundreds of names I have seen suggested on here, Ron Rivera hasn't been one of them.
Thoughts on this?

I'm hazy on this...who's Ron Rivera? All I can picture is a football coach that looks like Ron Jeremy-if so, he'd be very popular with the Golden Girls.

Don't really know much about him. Think he was the D-Coordinator of the Bears recently.

Ron would be solid.
Was all american at USC I believe.
All pro with the Bears and played on the 84 team.
Fast up-in-coming coaches...but seems on the path for head gig in the NFL...just do not see him taking a college gig...recruiting would be a question mark.

while he is an outstanding coach, he is also one of the super young up and comers rumored for an NFL job like Jason Garrett. He was interviewed last year and did well, just didn't get the job...if he came to LSU, he would definitely be entertaining offers for NFL HC jobs in the near future like Garrett.
I'd rather hire someone with the best chance possible of being here more than 5 years. These coaches changes will eventually take their toll on the program even though up to this point we have come through relatively unharmed.
