Risk vs Reward for OC Candidates' Future

I think the OC candidates that want to be head coaches have a risk vs reward situation by wanting to come here.
The risk is that they leave their current comfortable position and get straight into the pressure-cooker and high expectations of LSU football.
The reward is that IF they perform well and get the LSU offense to be a consistent Top 25 unit and contribute to several successful seasons, they MAY be in-line to be the successor of CLM if and when he decides to retire.
I think most guys would take that chance, especially with the significant pay raise they will receive.

Ok so do you want a guy to come here and be unsuccessful and not be wanted asa head coach. Great coordinators get head coaching jobs, or coach in waiting jobs, if we want a big boy then we have to get used to the fact that he coule be gone in 3 years. Unless we make him the coach in waiting. I dont want a mediocre guy who no one wants!!!!!! You want the best, and you cant think about him leaving, you come to that when it gets here. Everyone around here is too fragile and scared ofcoaches moving on. Its like getting a decent looking girl friend so no one will steal her away. Why get a super hot girlfriend that everyone looks at and wants and might leave you when you can have the second tier girlfriend?????? Geez. Get the best available at ALL times.

I think I probably wasn't clear with the intent of the post. The main point is that there is a possible big reward for the new OC if they decide to stay here and wait. But they realize they can also be rewarded with a HC job elsewhere.
I understand that successful coordinators at big-time programs get head coaching offers all the time, and if the guy LSU hires leaves in a few years because he was successful then it's all good and we'll find somebody else at that point.
