Last year after Shula was fired- Alabama thought they had Rich Rodriguez coming in there. Then he changed his mind after realizing the nice situation he was at.

Isn't there a strong correlation to what Les Miles is faced with? Les will come to realize that Bo and that stuff from 20 years ago is the past and that LSU is the present- he probably isn't going anywhere.

He can also look a what Saban got out of his move and realize what a good situation he is in. Miles should be especially weary of the fate of each coach who has won a National Title at LSU and left.

Smokescreen..RR using Bama for more money, Bama using RR as a smokescreen...Saban was a lock way before NFL season was over.

West Virginia is also his alma mater.

WV is his alma mater though...

in addition, the day before this was all supposed to be announced, Finebaum posted a picture of Rich and his family on his website and completely trashed his wife. This went on for quite a while with many callers piling on...calls were made to RR and his wife about it and shortly thereafter he pulled out.

If all Miles wanted was a cush position, he would have stayed at Oklahoma State--Oklahoma's red-headed stepchild--where the emphasis placed on winning would have been at a minimum.

Rodriguez's situation is not comparable here.

That's what Finebaum and others have said, and also that Mal Moore sabotaged any serious interest by Rodriquez when RR contemplated Ala,
because he wanted Saban thru Sexton all along, and had been in talks with Sexton for months.

Or he could realize that if he goes to Michigan and recruits well, he can have a chance at a top 5 team each year and a reasonable chance at the BCSCG because he'll only have to play a few tough games each year. He won't have to play anything like an SEC schedule.
