first of all , props to Kincaid for asking the direct question.

During the awkward exchange, Les says he doesn't want to be back at the Cotton Bowl next year - wants to play for higher stakes.

We've got to remember the bizarre "media relations" that Les has exhibited over the years. I think he may have shown his cards here with this. He wants to play for more than Cotton, but wants to keep his bargaining chip with LSU for a contract extension / raise.

Most would agree that Michigan is a rebuilding type of situation and therefore he likely wouldn't be taking Michigan (assuming he leaves to coach there) to anything better than Cotton next year (if to a bowl at all).

BUT he has a LOADED recruiting class and plenty of returning studs here at LSU. By all accounts, 2011 and/or 2012 are going to be great for LSU.

I think he's being a bit coy here (and being coached by his agent), and putting the powers that be at LSU on notice that he's a hot commodity. It seems to have worked as noted today in Alleva's statement about keeping him here.

I am being very positive in this, but I think he stays with a contract re-negotiation or extension. My 2 cents, and I thank you for your time.

There's no doubt he's doing this and why not. The guy has $18M left guaranteed on his contract. Why not go back for more? He's not going anywhere....bank on it.
