Regardless how you feel about Miles, LSU will not be able to commit to giving him another backwards contract like they did post 2007. If this turns into some bidding war where Miles tries to use this to reaffirm a commitment to a new contract we won't be committing to it until the current term of contract is in it's final year.
We learned our lesson a couple years ago when political pressure built and was constructed out of necessity more than sense. It won't be happening again, so if he stays at LSU it won't be because of some huge imminent raise or extension. LSU won't be approving one soon, regardless of what's posted here.

Basically, if he stays, great. He won't be parlaying it into a new contract just yet.

but I think I understand. If LSU has to come up with $$$ to keep Les then I think he's gone. If that's the point, I agree.

Exactly. LSU won't be giving up anything to keep him. They may say they'll give him extension but State Law won't allow it.
It would have to be a new contract and that won't be written for at least two more years.

An Agents job is to get the best deal for his clients while maintaining their interest. If you think his agent doesnt try to spin this then you're insane.
