What were the negative LSU comments?

Just rumors or actually documented?

Not sure. Someone else said it. Was looking for more info because I haven't seen it documented anywhere. Seems like rumors

Read "Meat Market"

He actively tried to get Joe McKnight to USC as coach of Ole Miss

Search Maximus' post history. There was a thread on here yesterday that covered this topic that was either started by Maximus or had a lot of posts by him.

I don't have time to read meat market. Are there qoutes of him saying negative things about LSU?

Recruiting is like chess: Every move sets up another. Orgeron knows going head-to-head with LSU for possibly the best player from New Orleans since Marshall Faulk is a long shot. So he takes a calculated risk. He knows USC is recruiting McKnight, but only as a cornerback. Orgeron dials his pal Carroll and says: "He's gonna win a Heisman over there." What's Orgeron thinking? That stoking the Trojans' interest will get McKnight to consider leaving Louisiana. "I wanna help Pete," Orgeron says later, "but it doesn't hurt to get Joe away from LSU."

I don't recall specific quotes

But yes, he said he "wanted to help Pete out" by having Frank Wilson steer McKnight to USC

McKnight would have gone anywhere Frank was, besides ole miss

Eh. That's not really a negative statement about LSU. He just doesn't want to have to play against him every year. Doesn't mean he hated LSU

Why would he do that to the school and state he loved since forever?

Means he actively worked against LSU even though it wouldn't have benefited him at all. You're right, nothing to see.

How would it not benefit him? He was at Ole Miss and has to play against us every year. Just seems like he is doing his job. Slightly dirty recruiting but thats the name of the game

For the record I hate the hire

Ah I see let's think of more reasons to hate on the coach. Get over it, he's hired, he's getting paid by LSU to coach the tigers and win. If he does and does it well he will be hear for sometime, if not his arse is gone just like any other coach.
