re: OM giving him until the 28th to make a decision seems crazy, right?

I am more so thinking that the OM admins will jettison their head coach early out of spite since they set a deadline. Otherwise I can’t see the point in setting the deadline except maybe getting a head start on their next coach.

Ole Mrs giving him any type of deadline when he’s playoff bound is stupid.
They should be rubbing his feet and fanning him with palm leaves.

They dumb

If Lane is leaving, his best option is to call their bluff. IF they fire him, his new team doesn't have to pay the buyout. Theoretically more available NIL money.

They don't want this bleeding over into the postseason. They set a deadline on the new contract that's on his desk I believe.

So if he takes another job, then a different conversation can be had about timing of leaving.

I can appreciate your sentiment but: this courting of LK by others should not be a surprise. He is coaching at a school that has done nothing since the late 50s. They have had a handful of NFL caliber players

Ole Miss is not a Blue Blood and I don't believe Blue Bloods give their HCs ultimatums...am hard pressed to remember when another school has, at least publicly.

The most successful HC in decades - on the verge of playoffs - and this is the strategy? NIL, portals, recruits are about the HC not the brand of Ole Miss
