I would be cool with Malzahn, but if it came down to it, I would rather have Garrick McGee or Paul Petrino, and mainly because I prefer the pro-style system over the spread that Malzahn runs. However, Malzahn's recruiting ability, success as an offensive coach, and ties to the state of Arkansas and region make him a good candidate. He'd probably be on my second tier of "realistic" candidates.

Us as in us here on the Rant?

Yes, they had threads on there claiming that posters from TD caused it to crash.

It reality, it's just a shitty site that can't withstand a women's basketball victory over Missouri State.

Hell no.

Twice the coach Strong is but I think we can open up the wallet and get a big timer. We have everything needed to be a great program year in and year out. We need an established guy, we tried the up and comer with Pel in basketball. It doesn't and it won't work at Arkansas.

Gus hatred is a confusing whirlwind of hogtard calculus.

Gus > Nutt

Hogs + Nutt - DMAC(Jones)/David Lee(Reggie Herring) = Suck

JFB * Gus squared + Springdale 5 + mandatory hire = hope & positive future & happy fanbase

h/pf/hf / sq. root of Nutt - Gus + Springdale 5 * Casey Dick = I called that play Brutha

Here's the Gus hate formula Gus Hate = Gus' love for skeezy Walt Williams and Pinnacle Prep * Michael Dyer & Fatboy Dakota + Kiehl Frazier and the shady recruiting to the Armani Ronnie power of God x 10.

Basically if Gus would not have been such a cockhole with the Dyer recruiting and Pinnacle Pimps connection which there are civil lawsuits in Arkansas courts over the thousands of dollars families paid to Williams to help their kids, while Dyer received the "services" pro bono. Add in the Dyer diss video and the graces of Bobby Petrino and his dislike of Dyer and the recruiting handlers turning out to be the right call. Gus would have a haaaaaaaard time getting the entire fan base behind him. He'd be very devisive.

I don't want him, it's just too close to the cut and his offenses have been shite w/o Cam againt the SEC.

If we go smaller school, I'd like to see Hudspeth especially if he has another good season at Lafayette. Sorry if mentioned but I'm not reading through 13 pages of what I can only assume is flame jobs from lsu fans.

Malzahn would be a yes to me but there is a small but vocal portion of our fanbase that despise him for numerous reasons. Seems lame to me but these are the guys that bash him mercilessly on the message boards.

Probably has something to do with the fact that he's never been a D1 coach, and sans-Cam Newton, he hasn't really proven shite out on his own. We can do much, much better than that.

Age would be a deterrent for Tuberville imo. I think we will try to get someone younger first but could always circle back around to him. Jeff did try to hire the last time so you never know.

Yep. I don't think TT has the fire we need at Arkansas.

Exactly. While I want a coach who sees himself retiring here, I don't want that actual retirement to take place in 5 years.

Does he have any ties to the school other than coaching there for two years? I know he is from Louisville but is that close to State or something.

Cheshire, we need to make a leaderboard. I want input from a handful of you guys.

As it stands now from my own personal evaluation of the odds of the hired coach;

1. Art Briles
2. James Franklin
3. Chris Petersen
4. Les Miles
5. Pat Fitzgerald
5. Pat Hill
7. Mark Hudspeth
7. Charlie Strong
9. Skip Holtz
10. Brent Venables
10. Paul Chryst

And that's probably way off base actually.

Who you think we will actually hire or who we individually want to hire?

Not sure. Louisville is 5 and a half hours away.

Interesting. You would think he would hold out for another job considering he is going to most likely be the hottest young name in coaching if he has another good year at ULL. Can't blame him if it's his dream job I guess.

Who think the most likely to be hired is. It's kind of both critical evaluation and personal opinion influenced.
