I honestly do not think Freeze ever was going to happen, and I am pretty sure it was probably Freeze/Sexton that floated that rumor out there that Auburn was talking to him.
The Auburn insiders have been pretty adamant that Freeze would be a no go with Roberts, Cohen, and a good portion of the BOT.

Auburn is in no rush to hire a HC asap. Look at Auburn last go around. Look like this could end in similar results.

I just don’t understand how they ALWAYS screw up a coaching search. You would think they would have learned how to do this by now. I mean even chizik was a terrible hire that landed a generational player

We pretty much thought we had lane, some say agreed on his end, and then it fell through partially because of his kids.
We basically had no concrete backup plan (so far)
That being said, not sure the validity of this list besides Johnson, who would probably be a good hire that would piss people off. He can coach, though

I agree. I think Kiffin agreed in principle and he either overplayed his hand with the buyout language or his kids flipped out.
