Campbell all day everyday! I don’t get the fascination with Napier, I’ve watched games and just don’t see it. Guys barely squeaking games out against Nichols st! Look he may be solid coach in Sunbelt, but that in no way is grounds to get keys to top program in country. Give me a guy who’s turned around and sustained success at power 5 level.

Napier. We need someone willing to Capital-R Recruit.

Campbell’s “we don’t chase 4 and 5 stars, we just get our kinda guys” philosophy is great to turn a perpetual doormat like ISU into a consistently strong Big 12 team, but it doesn’t win you games in the SECW. ESPECIALLY in the NIL era, you need a guy that is going to push the envelope and scratch and claw for every possible recruiting advantage. That’s not Campbell.

I think Campbell is less likely than Napier to be a total disaster, but I think he’s also much less likely to legitimately contend for championships. And contending for championships is what we’re looking for at LSU. Napier may carry a higher risk, but his commitment to building out his recruiting apparatus means that he also carries a higher reward.

I wouldn’t necessarily take Napier over campbell for EVERY job—but I would definitely take Napier over Campbell for the LSU job.

Obviously that’s the approach he has to take being at ISU, if he came to LSU he would have obtainable top tier talent at disposal year in and year out.
