My Theory on the Coaching Search

I believe we can deduce that the current coach we are looking at, still vetting, potentially offered is currently playing in a conference championship game or possibly in NFL.

IF the guy we are looking at was: Campbell, Kiffin, Stoops, Dabo, Riley, Fleck, Jimbo - why hasn't the announcement been made?

Current coaches in championship games this coming weekend:

Wittingham/Cristobal
BOB
Aranda/Gundy
Fickell/Holgersen

I did not include:

Harbaugh, ferentz, smart, Saban, clawson, Narduzzi because my opinion they aren't serious candidates (my opinion)

Brad Davis will be our interim coach for bowl game. I thought that interesting as Mickey is our Assoc HC and logically you would think that would be his job.

There was some chatter about only a few select coaches remaining on staff: Raymond, Davis and Baker. If that were true than that would most likely mean a coach is already chosen as they would want a say in their assistants. Unless I'm completely out of line thinking it's common practice for an AD to tell an upcoming HC you have to keep X on staff.



We should no more by this week if Aranda signs his extension (or not) and if potential candidate team doesn't make playoff. (Which right now could be Fickell, Aranda or Kelly - I think Oregon is out so Cristobal shouldn't need to wait if was there guy either).

Just my 2 cents - zero inside info. Just reading the tea leaves.

If just makes zero sense to not have an announcement for any of the coaches not currently in a championship game or out of playoff contention. You would think Woodward would want it wrapped up as soon as possible for recruiting purposes.
