NYC is not the dream spot to win a super bowl, if that would be his goal. They create one of the hardest jobs in sports as NYC has the most vibrant media presence in all of US sports, and they are constantly critical of coaches. NY as a ,artist has basically been a meat grinder for solid coaches who get fired after .500 seasons. There have been calls for Coughlin's head almost year for a decade with small reprieves for SB years, and Eli is towards the end of his career. The NYGs project well for 2016 but not for 2020, and it's doubtful they are one player away from the Super Bowl.
NYC allows for worldwide celebrity and the highest levels of compensation. Saban already has both of those, without the added baggage. Saban may go back in and try to tame the old wild horse that got away from him, but it will be in a situation designed for on the field success not the NYC circus.
For NYC he's the perfect choice. Butts in seats and eyes on the screen bring money into the most expensive and profitable football organization north of Dallas. If they fire him in 5 years, so be it, the team is built on printing money and garnering attention.

His wife and family like Alabama. He's a compulsive perfectionist, and Alabama Football will never be perfect, it's impossible. It's that simple, that's why he's not leaving.

Saban is going to retire at Alabama. The only other job might be an AD after he is finished. He's the greatest college football coach to ever live, screw the pros. His time in Miami was well documented. The man hated the new power structure as the players run the asylum. In college, the coaches are the stars vs nfl where players are the stars.

The Colts job would have been the one to take if he wanted to go to the NFL. Has everything in place to win now and build on.

It sure looks like Nick is settled with Bama since the Giants seem to be moving on Marrone or Smith (this one baffles me). He has a chance to surpass Bear in titles and probably wants to go down as the best college coach ever. However, contrary to a lot of comments, he does like attention and is maniacally driven by power, fame, and profit and NY could add to that. However, if he would fail in the pros to win a Super Bowl or two, it would taint his legacy, and he is also driven by a fear of failure.
