Any “mutual interest” you’ve heard at this point is just Jimmie Sexton planting stories to get Mullen a raise. If he was considering leaving, he wouldn’t be making moves til after the Egg.

The typical initial steps would be UT's AD talking to Sexton (who in turn would speak to and for his client) to determine Mullen's level of interest and (if it's serious) arrange post-Egg Bowl interactions.
