As much as I want Miles to stay, I believe I he is 100% gone next year.

even if the next coach for some odd reason does not hire him, he'd be jobless for less than 24 hours. Your reasoning is stupid.
For a guy like Steele it made sense. They were offering a nice raise and guaranteed for at least 3 years. If he didn't take that job, chances are high he'd be seeking a job next year and facing a pay cut. If O is on the market, he'll be able to pick his destination. Guaranteeing himself a few years in fricking Starkville probably isn't very meaningful to him.
