Please understand that they have no place in the college football coaching world. From recruiting to job openings, there is rarely a man coaching a team in this nation who cares about more than himself. Granted, they do care about the players that they recruit becasue they directly effect the status of their employment, but the personl relationships that they build with those kids is important also. That being said, however, they obviously have their own agenda first and foremost, in mind. We have been here before; remember Slick Nick? Having been involved directly with the program here for 6 years, I do have a unique perspective on the situation and all of the nuances regarding a coach's decision about his job. Regardless of the feelings religion felt by the multitudes of LSU faithful, coaches who come to this job are here for just that...A JOB!!!!! I harbor no ill feeling to Miles other than this: He seemingly has caused these players to lose thier focus in what could have proven to be the most special football season in LSU's hundred plus year history. Did he do this purposfully? No. This goes back to the whole argument of, "If you were in his position to go home..." which I don't fault him for. If he feels that this is the best move for his family and his future, then let him go. My problem comes when the discussion of timing is introduced. Would it have been better to announce to everyone the intentions earlier rahter than letting the suspence take the stage? We will never know. LSU Football paid for my college education and introduced me to my wife. I will always love and be indebted to the program for what it has done, but never to its coaches.
