Michigan spent $125k to find their current AD (Dominos CEO Dave Brandon) using the same search firm I presume they are now using to hire their next head coach:

The University of Michigan spent more than $124,000 on its search for a new athletic director - a search that resulted in the hiring of Dave Brandon, a former university Regent in Michigan’s own backyard.

Spokesperson Rick Fitzgerald said the university was “very pleased” with the work of consulting firm Spencer Stuart.

According to their consulting services agreement, Spencer Stuart and consultant Jed Hughes, a member Michigan’s coaching staff from 1974-75, began working for the university on Nov. 30, about a month after Bill Martin announced his retirement as athletic director.

Could be one of the dudes who allegedly deplaned in Baton Rouge yesterday. Jed Hughes is based out of Spencer Stuart's New York office, which might easily explain why the Michigan branded plane makes so many stops at Westchester airport in the northern NYC suburbs.

Might help fill in one of the pieces of the puzzle since that Michigan branded plane has been making a lot of stops at NY's Westchester airport. Makes sense if Michigan is using a search firm based in NYC and the search firm is doing all the dirty work for Brandon.

Also got word from a Michigan blog that:
quote:

Received word that les miles' attorney was picked up in baton rouge yesterday and flown to Hilton Head to finalize the contract. Les should be arriving there later today

As others have pointed out:

Lloyd Carr also owns a home in Hilton Head. Interesting
