What is his contract now and the buyout? The guy has it easy as hell at TCU too, that is something you have to look at. He probably won't have to worry about job security anytime soon at a program like that.

Patterson would need to realize recruiting is half the battle in the SEC. LSU should be a easy program to recruit to. I'd be interested to see what Patterson could do on the recruiting trail but if he isn't a great recruiter, he could easily surround himself with some. Winning games will sell LSU itself.

Recruits still see LSU as a premiere offer, as evidenced at these UA/AA bowl games. They always have guys we barely recruit put our hat on the table.

Heard 3M per but no comfirmation after quick search. Think his worries ab pressure at job like LSU compared to tcu is overstated too

Mullens is currently being exposed as a mediocre recruiter at MSU since Diaz left. That is going to be an issue if he's hired by LSU.

People want to believe he is a great coach, but I am not sure Mullen's will fit well at LSU.

I wouldn't be against an up and coming coordinator to be honest. Is it a risk? yes, but at this point it's likely the hire with the most potential you'll get without breaking the bank.

Hell, Smart wouldn't be a bad hire IMO.

Yes and Patterson turned them down.

Please tell me the last coach to be exposed as a good recruiter in Starkville.

according to Patterson, there is no buyout clause

Yeah sure but I think he would make all but 2 or 3 teams better. I don't think that makes nick saban beastly but to be honest I have no clue what beastly means

I don't know the specifics but its like 3.5 to 4 million a year under Miles current contract. The roll over years are an issue for LSU because if Les wins 8 or more games a year then he gets an extended year added to the contract. This puts LSU in a very weak position and shows how bad Sexton schooled the Administration last go round. As far as counter offers go I think LSU has compensated Les quite well and I am in disagreement over going up to 5 million like some have been talking about. Alleva has a number in his head I'm sure but how much higher I have no idea? We could use the 1.5 mill Less would have to pay us and use it as a pot sweetner or signing bonus for a new coach.

My final thought is if a new coach came in they will not make the same kind of loot Miles made and the contract will be structured more to LSUs favor. I'm hoping the the mad hatter stays gang but Crowton got to go ASAP. We got a great shot at the title and I'm hoping that's more important than rebuilding Michigan.

I agree. I think that is a tad bit overrated. LSU should be easy to recruit to. I don't recall Les ever burning the recruiting world up under OSU. LSU is probably one of the few programs that can almost sell itself.

when you cut and run on your team like that, it's a pretty big failure. He's an absolute joke in South Florida, and probably so in the eyes of many in the NFL. He's a great college quote, but he quit on the Dolphins.

Really? I have seen it posted here many times. SFP would you have the terms of the contract handy and I am seriously curious what LSU wants Les to change in his contract.
