He dropped OSU without telling anybody.

He'll do what any smart coach would do under similar circumstances. He's hardly holding LSU hostage. Coaches have to make the money while they're hot. Today's hero is tomorrow's goat. Can't blame him at all.

exactly...this is why people should worry. I just hope we can get someone we want and not someone that is a desperation move...

Exactly. This is why we need Les Miles. If he leaves now, we're fricked. Who you gonna get to replace him?

I'm sure it's been said already, but I'm not reading 8 pages of posts, sorry. I really think if this info is getting out something more than just an interview has already taken place. I don't think UofM, specifically DB would let this get out considering what happened with the last coaching search. There have been virtually no leaks. Harbaugh was just an assumption, until Harbaugh himself confirmed it in his 49ers press conference.
With this info out, if Les is not named our new coach in the next few days I'd honestly be shocked.

Word I heard last night from a staff's spouse, that assistants have not been told anything yet

Like Chicken was saying, few weeks ago Belowpar said they were going to rework Miles contract. Alleva said just the other day he would do what it takes to keep Miles. That leads me to believe they're going to give him what he wants to stay. We're in a really bad situation as far as a coaching search goes. I highly doubt Mullen makes a lateral move considering he didn't do it at Florida. Pellini? Hell no. Patterson? Dude keeps turning every offer down and just got a extension. Jack Del Rio? Who else?

Jordan and Jarrett would be in for a culture shock with Spurrier as QB coach. When it comes to QB's, he suffers no fools.

got me there, but for a different reason. Had he gone to UW or some other school, I wouldn't have cared. Still, not really comparable situations. Saban failed miserably in the NFL and had enough at the NFL level. Back in college, he's as close to a sure thing, IMO.

Spurrier would probably have the walk-ons playing to prove a point.
