Serious question do people actually believe these obvious diversions? The Kirby Smart part is an absolute joke. He will never leave Saban's wing. Now Mel Tucker's name never comes up until there is a rumor that miles is in Chicago meeting with a candidate, But while the rumor about Miles in Chicago could've been true it also stated that the candidate was meeting him in Chicago not that he , the candidate, was from Chicago. Am I the only one who finds it odd that these rumors are beginning as The talk about Matt Eberflus becomes realistic. And the whacking of every thread about Eberflus helps my argument.

FWIW, Chicken seems to be as clueless as the rest of us.

how does whacking threads equate to truth?

I'm sure he did meet with Mel Tucker in Chicago. No reason to not believe that.

Now whether he's a serious candidate, I'm not sure.

I don't think Eberflus or Tucker would be homerun hires. Both have very blemished resumes.

This is just Miles getting Alabama to spend more money and trolling the LSU fans at the same time. I like it...

obatiger23 glad someone else is thinking the same thing. Actually I am getting a little concerned because if the Eberflus name is not true than we might have another problem. When names that are so ridiculous are being floated around "Smart for one" it is total subterfuge to throw the masses off of something. That subterfuge is either because we have the candidate but need to keep the name quiet for a reason right now, or the worst case they are absolutely no closer today than they were 2 weeks ago for a whole host of reasons and that could be disturbing.

Wtf??? The "talk"? Yeah, a quick Google of his name relating to LSU showed three hits. All on here. There was no talk until a random poster comes in earlier and says he's the next coach. That same thread has been made for 20 other coaches in the past two weeks. All are just as likely at this point.

Only real answer is: We've decided to hire the Senator, Jim Tressel as the DC/HCIW. Les himself is working on the 'show clause' with such wording that would baffle a buffoon.

You really believe we can't make a decent hire if we wanted to right now? I mean, honestly, you really believe that? I get that you are impatient, but there is no reason to freak out every time a new name is thrown out there. We will make a hire when Les is ready. He knows more than we do about the importance of this hire.

Absolutely not!!! I am hoping and praying that we don't make a decent hire, that we make a GREAT hire. Because I have seen Miles's penchant for offense and if we don't have a great and the right hire we are in trouble. All you have to do is look at the offensive rankings and defensive rankings since Miles has been at LSU and you can clearly see that defense is what has been winning games for us. So having the RIGHT DC is critical imo.

All I stated was that when names like Kirby Smart are being thrown around in the public and for public consumption that there is subterfuge going on because Smart ain't coming to LSU unless he gets fired at Bama.
