What was the point of the game?

Some care more bout "looks" than results and that might be a valid point if we talking bout a coach at a school a couple years, but we aren't.

We are talking bout a coach with a 6 year body of work which shows 4 of 6 years with 11 wins and 4 of 6 years with a Top 10 ranking, I would think, while playing in the toughest division of the toughest college football conference in the NCAA.

To think there is something wrong in the "process" of a football program that is unequaled in the SEC for both 11 win seasons and Top 10 rankings for the last 6 years is laughable, but each to our own.

Titles in the form of division, conference, and national are the measure of greatness of a college football coach not just winning percentage. By the way what is 14-10 on the winning percentage rank as far as SEC record the last 3 years? That is unimpressive. The winning of titles in any sport is the measurement of any coach. This is 100% Les's program with his mark on it. We have 0 titles in any form ithe last 3 years. I am hopeful Les can and will win something next year.

HE WON THE NC

He sure did. It was also clearly his amazing coaching ability as to why "he" won the national championship.

1 conference title in 6 years doesn't equal great success.

What Les has proven as of now is that he'll win an SEC title once every 6 years.

He's proven that he will lose at least 2 games every year.

He's proven that he will continue to mismanage games with the potential of losing them.

Les is a good coach, but to just look at his record, it only tells you that he'll average 10.3 wins a season.

The chances of winning another NC with 2 losses is unlikely seeing as it happened only once in like 50 years.

Les should get a roll-over of one year this year. He earned that, but no more salary and no changes.

If he got a roll-over in 2008 when he had no business getting it, then he shouldn't get one this year.

He already has a clause that keeps him the top 5 paid HC in the NCAA, why should LSU give him a raise? If someone jumps past him now, his salary goes up as he is #5 right now I believe. He has a massive buyout if he gets fired too. His contract has plenty of job security incentives with rollovers and buyouts. He got a huge contract extension after a NC and hasn't really produced anything after that. What the hell else does he want?

So, because LSU has 2 mediocre seasons and then he comes back with a 2 loss team he thinks he can get raise? In a down year for the SEC too. Only one team has proven to be "great" and that is AU. Even they have glaring flaws and are far from dominant. Every year recently the SEC has had at least 1-2 dominant teams. AU isn't a dominant team, they have glaring weakness, specifically on defense. If this was previous years AU would be behind Florida/Bama in the SEC. They dominated a much weaker SEC compared to the past.

For The Bob 584: First or all how do you get WE when you have O postedd. Second Being in the top 3 in the West of the SEC puts us in the top 4 or 5 in the country.

LSU has has many west titles as any school in the west in the last 6 seasons. LSU has as many SEC titles as any school in the West in the last 6 seasons.

LSU has as many national titles as any school in the west and as many as any school in the nation other than one for the last 6 seasons.

LSU ranks in the Top 10 in winning percentage for BCS programs in the past 3 years while playing in the best football conference in the land and having our worst season at 8-5 in the last 6.

I'm thinking 3rd in the SEC off the top of my head.

We can cherry pick all we want, but for a 6 year period that includes 2 west titles, an SEC title, a NC, 5-1 in bowls, a 28-1 OOC record, the most SEC west wins, a Top 5 winning percentage among BCS schools, 4 of 6 years with 11 wins, and 4 of 6 years with a Top 10 NR, if we earn one this year...it's the best LSU has ever produced and if that is not good enough for some...so be it.

It's still the best ever and to knock the "process" which achieved it, is silly.

Using your process:

What LSU has proven as of now is that it can win the SEC once every 8 years and a NC in football once every 30 years or so and average 4 L's a years.

Which is the very best in modern history for a coach here any substantial period and the LSU win total since 2005 is only 2nd to Florida in the SEC by 3 games.

Staying at LSU, most of his supporters are against giving an extension or raise.

Why is this?

He got his raise when we won the BCS Championship. Since then we have been passed by Auburn and Arkansas and have not won an SEC West Championship. Does he deserve a raise or extension for that?
