Not really. I stated this earlier that highly paid coaches make great marks. They basically know one thing. Football.
The demands of being an elite level football coach kind of takes reading the Wall St. Journal and getting an MBA out of the life prospectus for these guys. Dump a few million dollars in their laps...
If professional athletes are often broke within a few years of their careers ending, and often the victims of shady business deals, wouldn't it be sensical that coaches would also be guppies as well. I don't know where the fiscal responsibility lectures come into play for the daily schedule for a BCS level coach that just increased his earnings by 700% for winning 9 games.
I remember an article a couple years back about the mega mansions that college football coaches buy and usually have to dump at a loss when they either move on or get fired.
