LSU ranked 32nd in total defense after 2008

And 56th in scoring defense
In the past 2 years:
Scoring offense - 76 & 50
Total offense - 112 & 93
Were Peveto and Mallory "asked to pursue other opportunities" or was their choice to leave entirely their own? They accompanied Miles to LSU in 2005 and were part of 4 very solid defensive units. I'm not defending the 08 defense or the coaches. It was pretty abysmal and a change needed to be made.
But what am I missing here?

No shite! One bad year from the defense and they are both gone. Yet we are forced to accept Crowton's ineptitude year after year!

Think it had something to do with the fact that they didn't have anyone special on the market, so they decided to promote from the inside for that one year.
