Les and his agent are playing both sides against the middle. Very smart on Les and Co's part. LSU admin should proceed with caution. This should not be all about money or job security. I for one still dont think it is.
Miles and co. leaked the job security thing knowing full well that could be part of his out. No college program in america can condone mediocrity. Sure those seasons will happen every where but no job is sure to be safe....no job. We all know he is a "Michigan Man" and really does not need to play such games. If he wants to go back we already know why.
Still, many will question leaving an LSU team stocked with talent and could be poised to make a run at the mnc. However, as has already started by major media outlets, LSU and our fans are quickly becoming the villians. Several personalities are already bashing the fanbase for not accepting Miles. Irony because no national media outlet made fun of Les more than ESPN...

Dont get caught up in this LSU admin. Les has done a great job here at LSU and we should all want him to stay. More money is indeed in order to play the game with his agent BUT the duration of the contract should not be changed. Depending on the agreed per year perhaps even lower the buyout.

LSU, you can make all things equal without promising job security relative to duration!

i wanna see les stay just as much as the next guy ... but if LSU cowers and rips up his current contract and gives him $5 million a year for a ridiculous length of time with an insane buyout, LSU is straight up dumb ... miles makes plenty of money here .. miles has great facilities here .. miles has great players here .. miles could win another national championship in the immediate future here ... if he wants to leave for an additional $1.25 million a year and jump into the same, if not bigger pressure cooker at UM .. then he needs to just go .. the LSU job is the better job over the next 3 years at the VERY least and he's paid very well commensurate to his results over the last 4 seasons ..

Said this same thing a couple of days ago myself. Then in order to help pay for this ridiculous salary prices of everthing will go up as well from tickets down to bottled water.

LSU cannot promise job security just because his alma mater needs a coach.

Job security will be earned and that will be no different at Michigan.....just ask RR.

if this is les miles mulling over realizing his "lifelong dream" .. that's one thing, fine, and understandable .. and if that lifelong dream comes with an extra $1.25 mil a year, that's a bonus .. most people fulfill lifelong dreams for free ... but if he parlays that or is trying to parlay this into a new, richer contract at LSU, frick that shite and frick him ... with the exception of a very few people in professional and big time collegiate sports, as money rises, hunger declines .. let his arse go to michigan if it is about money ..

If it's "truly" his "lifelong dream" why is he still here? Most people would jump at the chance to fulfill a "lifelong dream" regardless of money.... See Hoke ! and before LSU jump at the demands or requests of CLM and his agent they need to ask themselves one question. If Les Miles is such a "great" coach... why is UM the only school that has made a major play for him ? If in fact they have.
