If you look at Les Miles's tenure at LSU we have had the most talent in the country. 2005 can be excused because of Katrina and 12 straight games. 2006 can be excuse because of the schedule and 4 top 25 teams on the road. 2007 No excuse we lost to Kentucky, which in retrospect isn't that good and to Arkie at home on senior night.
"at LSU we have had the most talent in the country."
according to you...we can argue this all day and night, maybe you're right, maybe you're not.
Either way, my point is their is parity in major college football. We may have better talent, it's not heads and shoulders above EVERYONE!
"2007 No excuse we lost to Kentucky, which in retrospect isn't that good and to Arkie at home on senior night."
not making excuses, it is what it is!
Just questioning the logic of wanting to tar and feather the coach and ship him to Michigan!
He did win the SEC West outright and has us playing in the SEC championship game next weekend!
Is finishing his 3rd consecutive 10+ win season...
Has only dropped two home games in the last three years (both in OT)....
Not bad regardless of how much talent you have.
Yeah, we missed a shot at the MNC, BUT, things could be worse, THAT'S ALL I'M SAYING!

What team has had more talent than LSU the last three year? USC, maybe. Florida, maybe. Ohio State, probably not. That's it nobody else is even in the discussion. All of those teams have played for a national titles. But LSU won the Sec West twice. I'd prefer to win national titles not division titles. Normally a shot at the conference title woud be fine, but when the path to a national title was so clear, it's a disappointment to not get it.

Wow...you would prefer to win National titles instead of division titles...
NOW THAT'S A BOLD STATEMENT!...No, shite!
My point is the SEC is too competitive and their is too much parity to think you are going to contend for a NC every year...I don't care who's coaching!
Just because the path is "clear" doesn't mean it's easy...
It was "clear" for USC before they lost...
"clear" for Oregon before they lost...
"clear" for Ohio State before they lost...
"clear" for USF before they lost...
Not to mention a couple others....
NOT SO CLEAR!
I understand you're disappointed...
anyone with "Saintsfan" in their username should have experience at dealing with disappointment!

Les = Larry Coker - the championship (butch davis's championship)

Butch Davis does not get credit for that championship, he bailed before they won it. Ron Zook doens't get credit for Meyer's and the coach at OU before Stoops doesn't get credit for his either.

Exactly so when you get the chance to get to a national title game, YOU DON'T FRICK IT UP. Next years team won't be anywhere near as talented and we will have Florida and Auburn on the road. You can't just throw away golden opportunities because they don't come along often.

Love the way your maturity comes across in your post...NICE! I'm sure your mother is very proud.
What's the "22" in your user name for:
Your age, Your IQ, or the number of years it will be before the Saints win another playoff game.
Again using your logic anyone not winning the NC but finishing, say in the top 10...should can their coach because he "FRICKED UP" the rare opportunity of winning a NC!
SURE, makes perfect sense to me!

Did I say LSU should fire Les Miles anywhere in any of my post? I know you live in Gonzales, but in other parts of the world reading comprehension is important. LSU doesn't need to fire him but if he leaves there is no reason to cry.
You be happy and content with two losses a year, in seasons when we have arguably the most talented team in the country. But what happens the next two years when Florida, Auburn, Bama and Georgia have equal or more talent than us? Then it comes down to coaching and Les isn't the best at that.
