TIFWIW, I'm just passing it along to you guys.

From an admin on hornsports.com

for reference "BMD" stands for Big Money Donor

quote:

I told you any and all details I hear will be reported to y'all as fans... You make a decision. Also if some of this has been said already sorry, haven't had time to look at all the post.

I was told Saban basically told Sexton he wanted Texas. Get the deal done.

Mack and Powers basically tricked everyone with any influence. That's the BMD fault for buying into Powers.

On orangebloods Bellmont Yraitor posted, a good update. I will tell you this his BMD that stood up and walked out. Is a guy I'm very close to and is NOT happy at all. He emailed me today just about 20 mins ago. He told me to tell you guys personally to email and complain about what's happening. I told him I told y'all last night he wasn't happy and had a few people say well they won't stop donating. My buddy told me "shaun I will never donate one cent ever again to this program period. Let them know I am Texas Football fan first and foremost, I feel their anger and disappointed. I can't believe we let that two faced POS ruin Nick Saban."

Also to let y'all know why I felt so confident in NS coming here.
My buddy had lunch this past week in Houston with Nick, Jimmy, and 2 other money guys. Nick told them he was in. But we had to get Mack out clean by Sunday. We said no problem. Well thanks Bill Powers for FING this up and thanks Mack for being you. Funny when Mack's saying is "it's about the kids" no it's not Mack. Our recruiting will suffer.
Our tradition and history will suffer. thanks.

Btw now look for Tony Brown to commit to Alabama. Nick at this meeting last week, said Brown told him he would commit to Nick whether at Texas or Bama. What could have been.

I'm sorry for y'all's anger! I'm right there with you. I'm still at a lost of words. I'm trying to get my guy to get an account on here and post. He said he might

Nah, if it was that much of a done deal and if Mack is as unpopular as that post alleges, Mack would have been given a thirty minute window on Thursday to either resign or just straight up get the boot.

The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Feelers were sent out, Saban listened (either because he was genuinely interested or because it was a fresh opportunity to shake the Crimson money tree) but opted out of stepping into that.

I'm sure that guy trusts "his source".

I'm going to choose to believe this:

quote:

There has been much speculation about the future of Texas head coach Mack Brown. Saban said that the situation has been unfair to Brown.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mack Brown,” Saban said. “Mack Brown is the coach at Texas. He deserves the right, based on his body of work, to be able to leave the program the way he wants to leave the program. It wasn’t fair to him or to me to be speculating about this job, which I haven’t talked to anybody there about. “Really, the whole thing from my perspective stunk, but there wasn’t a hell of a lot I could do about it.”

In all likelihood, Saban indicated that he will not make another coaching move for the remainder of his career.

“I don’t want to go someplace else,” he said. “I don’t know how many times I can say that.”

Riiiight. Brown was on Fox in Houston saying that Saban was recruiting him to Bama and outlined a plan for him to run track and play football. That's the problem when a poster tries to read tea leaves to make themselves appear to be an "insider". You have to be fully accurate or the whole thing looks like what it is - fake.

Brown is going to LSU most likely, but the reason we know the post was FOS is b/c the whole "commit to Nick whether at Texas or Bama".

Slick way of saying that intermediaries did all the talking. Did not say "never talked to anyone."

IMO the UT BOR's and some BMD's thought that they could get Saban to UT after the supposedly let down year Bama had and Mrs. Terry's comments in the WSJ article. It possible they started up this whole "rumor" about Mack out and Saban in and Sexton knew this was the perfect opportunity to get that raise for Saban.

IMO Saban was never going anywhere but wanted a raise at Bama especially if UT was willing to give him the offer that was being "rumored."

I think Sexton was using this whole thing as leverage for Sabans pension.

I could also see it going the way that you posted to.

Good Lord y'all just won't accept it. LSU fans truly appear to be devastated over Saban staying at BAMA. The straight up jealousy is hilarious. You Frickers are about to have a stroke! Lol.

If you believe that Nick never entertained the Texas job, then I'll hold for you while you try a 57 yard field goal.

Wait, according to this yahoo, Saban and Sexton had lunch with two Big Cigars in Houston last week.

That claim alone tells me his entire story is horseshite. People were tracking every move Saban made last week, the only time he was in Houston was when he an Burton Burns visited Tony Brown in between visiting Fournette at his school and then at Fournette's home.

A flipping news crew took a picture of Saban and Burns in a car on their way to visit Tony Brown and followed them around Houston.

So when exactly did Saban break away from Burns and the media, hook up with Sexton - who was never reported to be with Saban at all last week - and secretly eat lunch with two Longhorn boosters?

The backpeddling excuse making after the fact is almost as funny as the bullshite stories that made the rounds last week.
