And yet as an Arkansas fan I have absolute confidence that at the end of the day ya'll make a better hire than we do.
At this point I have NO confidence in the future direction of this program. Less than a week ago, Kelly was leading his Tigers into the locker room at halftime with the lead.
Yet here we are now.
It’s said that an AD’s legacy is always judged by the success (or lack thereof) of his football coaching hire. Why Gov. Landry would stick his nose into this, thereby making it HIS legacy, is beyond my understanding. He has no day to day control over the product on the field, and when this next hire is subpar because of his meddling, voters aren’t going to sit around looking at all of the football contract revenue he saved us. They’re just going to be blaming him.
LSU was touted as the best job in the country a couple of days ago. He wouldn’t shut his mouth and he’s sealed both his and LSU’s fate because he lacked the ability to just stay in his lane.
The only way this ends well for him is if they somehow manage to make the playoffs next year.
But they won’t, because he set the program back at least a decade.
