Kragthorpe is second LSU assistant to be head coach at Louisville

I just read that Ron Cooper, secondary coach, was also the head coach at Louisville. Does anyone know when this was, and what his record was? He certainly is a good secondary coach for LSU. Maybe that's a good omen for the Kragthorpe hire!

Louisville fans hate Cooper about as much as they hate Kragthorpe, because he sucked there too.

This proves that some coaches are just good at one thing. Ron Cooper appears to be an excellent position coach (secondary). Perhaps Kragthorpe's cup of tea is running the offense and coaching quarterbacks. It takes a broad minded, delegating leader to be a head coach. Not everyone is cut out for that role.

Yep...lots of UL fans considered Krags to be the second coming of Cooper, who was a complete failure as a head coach at UL. (John L. Smith replaced him, got the program going again, and set the stage for Petrino.) Lots of not-so-clever UL fans took to calling Krags "Cooperthorpe." I like to remind them how well he is doing with the LSU secondary.

Being a head coach and being a position coach are two entirely different things. Also, coaching at LSU and coaching at Louisville are entire different things..
