I don’t understand this sentiment. If someone offers someone almost 1/3 more on their salary and better resources to better your career, how far can loyalty go. I am very loyal to the place I work for because they gave me a great opportunity but if a life changing opportunity comes along why dismiss is due to complete loyalty. That university will not have the same loyalty if the wheels fall off.

It’s an admirable stance but it’s a complacent stance. If that’s the case then you probably don’t want them as your coach and it’s not a bad thing on them.

In short if LSU offers Dillingham those things it’s not something that should be dismissed because it’s his “Alma mater.” These guys are coaches. Their goal is winning first and foremost. Some guys you just know won’t leave. I think Dillingham is way too early in his career to make that call. He’s not Kirk Ferentz.
