The Rooney Rule isn't affirmative action. But you have a slow brain so I can see where you may have difficulty in understanding something so simple.

There were people opposed to James Meredith attending Ole Miss too and his enrollment in the school sparked riots and violence.

If it were up to you, there would be about 2 black head coaches in FBS and the NFL combined.

This was almost a really good thread. Some great nuggets are in there at times y'all got a bit chippy. Nonetheless, a good dialogue that didn't turn into a Bama fap fest.

I wonder what the BCA thinks of Ellis Johnson getting fired? He didn't even get one calendar year to turn it around, wasn't even given the slightest chance.

Sorry, you can't be against the Rooney Rule and be for the advancement of black coaches.

It's like Republicans who say they support civil rights laws but put people in the Justice Department to fail to enforce them. Nobody really buys it.

yeah, you can. you are just too simple minded to get it.
eta: you are partially correct though. im not for the advancement of black coaches. im for the advancement of qualified coaches, regardless of race.
you look at mike tomlin as a good black coach. i look at him as a good coach. theres a difference there, subtle as it may be

as for johnson, yikes. he only got a year but boy did he ever frick that year up. sorta like cam cameron in miami.
would be hard for a group to defend one and not the other

A person can't support the advancement of good coaches?

So what percentage of college coaches should be black, and what percentage of NFL coaches should be black?

No you really can't. It does no harm to interview a black coach.

Sure. You just probably think all the good coaches are white.

The rule does not require you to hire a black coach. It doesn't prevent you from interviewing or hiring white head coaches.

these assumptions you make about people are hilarious.

I don't trust a word you say and I don't have any knowledge of the UVA search.

All I know is that if you are against the Rooney Rule, you have to be against black coaches advancing. Just because you refuse to concede it doesn't mean anything

Probably not much since he's white.

Why are you only for the advancement of black coaches, and not other minorities? Why can't Asians get an interview? Keep ignoring the question. You've swallowed the liberal line of pushing someone up for race, not for merit, which only hurts your cause because it usually results in unqualified candidates (embree) getting jobs. I don't blame you though, once you go black advancement.....you can't go back.

You suck at reading comprehension. At no point have I advocated any university or NFL team hire a black coach that is less qualified than a white candidate.
