He's done the head coach thing, and the NFL thing. Some guys fail the first time around and take another shot, but many go back to being staff and are happy there.

If he wants to be an OC for the rest of his career, then he probably sticks around LSU for a while. If he wants another HC or NFL OC job, another year or two of success at LSU will get him that shot. It just comes down to where he's most satisfies at this stage of his career.

My personal guess is that he stays at LSU a minimum of three more years because of his relationship with Miles. Those 2 are really tight. But that is just a guess, obviously.

I know most of our fan base hopes he sticks around. Miles is a better head coach with an OC that he trusts. He meddled with Jimbo enough to piss him off, but you can look back at LSU's offense in 05 and 06 and see a huge difference between those seasons and 08-12. Jimbo still ran the show back then. Miles lost trust with both Crowton and his more recent Frankenstaff, and started meddling. We all know how that turned out.

It was pretty obvious this year that things were very different. There were still a lot of pre-snap penalties (mostly OL related- STUDDS!!!), but the game planning was light years better. Cam used our weapons much more effectively. You could see a huge jump in development at the QB and WR positions. We need him to stick around, because it was clear to me that Miles has backed off knowing that he has the right guy there now. Cam is going to run an effective offense that Miles approves of, so there's no need for him to meddle. So here's hoping he stays at LSU for a long time.

frick, I'm tired of this question, and he hasn't even been at LSU an entire season.

I'm not sure about the HC job in college, but I know an former NFL player who played under Cameron at that level.

He said that he isn't well respected, for whatever reason, around the NFL. He said that most people have said all along that he was destined to be a very good OC at the college level. He said many felt it was his calling to work with QB's at that level.

This isn't to say he wouldn't get another shot in the league, just a majority opinion on the feeling surrounding Cameron.
