Is the sun belt conference really that bad?

3 different teams in the conference have been ranked in the top 25 over the last two years. Pretty sure that the ACC doesn’t have more than that or at least not by much.

The reason for that point is people constantly refer to the lack of competition in the conference as a detractor for Napier. I’m not saying it’s a power house but everyone begs for fickell but how many other teams in his conference have been in the top 25 the last few years?

You have to watch these teams play to really judge G5 coaches. Louisiana and Arkansas State are the clear best programs in the Sun Belt West, so just making conference titles at Louisiana doesn’t move the needle alone for a job like LSU.

If I were an LSU fan, I’d have some concerns about Napier’s teams playing down to their competition, his defense’s reliance on turnovers and Levi Lewis seems like he’s been there forever and is still a single read guy.
